Key Learnings

Design Plan Creation

First requirement from a designer was to provide a rough estimate of time for design phase, based on provided BRDs and FRDs. Fresh out of college, learnt the process in actual job ground. Participated and learnt stakeholder management and representing design team in client calls, and taking feedback and sing-offs.

UI Documentation

Learnt the technical feasibility of designs with active interactions with engineering teams, and impact by discussions with business team members. Learnt the importance of clear design documents for inter team clarity and power of mockups in quicker decision making. Learnt the methods to be more efficient and faster in design pitch creation.

UI and graphics coexistence

In fast paced projects where graphics teams used to be onboarded post confirmation on UI, learnt that design teams are stronger together, design is a team activity, learnt the importance of quick design critique sessions with fellow designers help to commit more realistic designs in the client sign-off calls

Max Life Insurance

"Aapke Sachche Advisor" (True Advisor) a marketing campaign by Max Life Insurance launched around 2012, emphasising honest, customer-centric, and need-based selling in the insurance sector to fight mis-selling. The campaign aims to build trust through ethical advice.

Optimised the app used by ‘Sachche Advisors’
There was an app which was used to recommend best suited insurance products to the users. As the results were suggested by the application, not the agent, people tend to believe more. My job was to enhance the usage of the application and enhance the efficiency.

UX research over chai
I called multiple Max Life Agents as prospect customer and requested them to suggest me best suited product. I observed they all were skipping multiple(20+) screens! The task flow was long and it was taking long time and a lot of information to suggest a product. Created a UX report based on the findings on ground, which lead to a new holistic UX research and ultimately app was optimised to support the Sachche Advisors better.

Key Learnings

Inventory management

One Transformer toy is made from more than hundred different parts. All the toys have multiple colours and come in different sizes. The inventory management tool aimed at switching from excel to a dedicated software.

Manufacturing optimisation

All the parts of same colour, irrespective of toy character or toy size, were casted at once. Maintaining number of final toys manufactured was a challenge, which was solved by design.

Focus and efficiency

Learnt that bringing focus at task in hand increased the efficiency many folds. The excel tables were replaced with visual dashboards for more focus, quicker decision making and enhanced efficiency.
